    Responsibilities

    In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Creating a Development Plan for all managers to be prepared for future growth within the patch and sub-region and be at model in each restaurant

    • Assessing the performance, turnover risk, and promotion readiness for each of your management positions

    • Teaching others how to be successful at their jobs and gives them the necessary tools and confidence to do so

    • Demonstrating respect for individual employees and appreciation for their efforts and contributions

    • Ensuring the integrity of Chipotle's training practices are executed in each restaurant

    • Performing progressive validations throughout each manager's training

    • Promoting only those managers who are willing and able to succeed in their new role

    • Being held accountable for all aspects of their restaurants' performance and serving as ultimate decision-maker

    • Conducting Food Safety and Operations Audits at the assigned cadence

    • Working in your restaurants at lunch, dinner and on weekends each week

    • Ensuring staffing, scheduling, and training systems are in place on every visit

    • Ensuring the restaurant is safe, the team delivers an excellent guest experience, and their sales and cash flow are achieving plan

    • Providing timely, honest feedback to both the MOD and GM

    • Ensuring employees understand what the correct standard is, and why it is so important

    • Creating a systematic plan with your GMs to improve the standard

    • Recognizing and appreciating progress from visit to visit

    • Reviewing all weekly and monthly reports to understand profitability of restaurants and accuracy of reported numbers

    • Conducting monthly business reviews with each GM to ensure accountability to the plan

    • Adjusting your strategy as needed throughout the year to attain the plan

    • Leveraging the strengths of your GMs and support staff to help the patch achieve its goals

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills

    • Understand that their success is based on the success of their teams, and aspire to make the people around them better than they are

    • Be committed to operational and training systems

    • Have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

    • Possess strong supervisory and organizational skills and have a passion for team development and leading through others

    • Have the ability to grow and develop a successful team of leaders

    • Be able to interact easily with diverse employees

    • Have at least five (5) years restaurant/retail management experience

    • Have a strong business knowledge (P&L management, food safety, sales forecasting, talent & development) with the ability to effectively influence, challenge and drive positive business results

    • Have thorough knowledge of and be committed to the culture and values of Chipotle

    • Be knowledgeable of and have the ability to use a PC and MS Office Suite proficiently

    Please note: The successful candidate will help expand our footprint in the Greater Ottawa Area including opening new restaurants in 2025 and beyond. This opportunity will require regular travel into the Greater Toronto Area for purposes of both training as well as managing 1-2 restaurants within the GTA until all of the Ottawa area restaurants are open and operational, creating a complete area of management for the successful candidate.
