How you make a difference
The Facility Maintenance Manager works directly with the Facility Maintenance Director to manage the day-to-day responsibilities associated with the over-all facility building maintenance, construction and grounds to ensure proper safety, sanitation, and efficient mechanical functions for all buildings, grounds, and equipment. Additionally, assures compliance of all applicable building and fire codes. This position functions as the interim Facility Maintenance Director during the absence of the Facility Maintenance Director.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, evaluate maintenance request forms, set priorities, and assign departmental work.
Hire contractors for specialized or extensive maintenance work, purchase supplies from approved sources, and maintain maintenance records.
Ensure compliance with corporate and The Joint Commission regulations by working with other department heads.
Prepare daily and monthly schedules for department staff, conduct training on life safety and other programs, and perform routine inspections of HVAC and emergency/disaster systems and equipment.
Provide reports on all life safety and maintenance issues, and work with the business office to maintain appropriate permits and licensing.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), construction management, or business.
Experience
Required: Five (5) years of facilities management experience with three (3) years having been in a management capacity.
Preferred: Experience in an inpatient or residential healthcare setting.
