    We have a rewarding position for a Building Systems Technician to join our world class facility in Ottawa, ON!

    As our Building Systems Technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of all building, life safety and security control and monitoring systems at the Ottawa location.

    Your Challenge:

    • Ensure that all environmental specifications for the manufacturing, engineering and office spaces are maintained to set points.

    • Analyze and troubleshoot all building system alarms including, building security, fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

    • Recommend alterations, upgrades, or replacement equipment for building operations, security and life safety systems.

    • Maintain maintenance and repair logs for all equipment and systems and respond to and complete all building related service requests.

    • Coordinate external contract maintenance support.

    • Liaise with landlord representatives as required.

    • Provide backup to the Facilities Coordinator as required

    • Be available for on-call duty and shift work as scheduled.

    • Perform administrative work as required such as completion of work orders and maintaining required databases.

    • Conduct regular site inspections ensuring the building equipment meets scheduled and periodic maintenance requirements and contractor service levels are achieved.

    • Carry out minor maintenance requirements on a scheduled or periodic basis, including but not limited to lamp replacement, filter replacement, belt replacement, etc.

    • Assist in preparation of budgets.

    • Maintain or update as-built drawings, specifications, shop drawings, operating manuals.

    ?What You Bring:

    • Building Technician Program diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years' experience in a facilities maintenance role

    • 1 -3 years' operating and troubleshooting experience on BAS and HVAC control systems.

    • Strong knowledge on automation control theory and concepts.

    • Excellent time management and communication skills (verbal and written).

    • Proactive and action oriented with proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision and direction.
