    Extraction/SPC Runner (KEY) Operator (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Swing Shift) - Decatur, IL

    East Plant - ADM Nutrition

    This is a full time, hourly position.

    Starting Pay: $30.95/hr + Shift Differential

    Shift(s) Available: Must have ability to work any shift, overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice as needed. The shift schedule includes an 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shift on a rotational or swing schedule (i.e., seven-day swing and/or rotational).

    1st shift weekends off until fully qualified. Then 2nd shift or Swing shift weekends off. Availability to work weekends is a requirement.

    Position Summary:

    The Key Operator is the operator within the Extraction and SPC manufacturing plant. The Key Operator is responsible for safely operating all Extraction/SPC3 equipment per-standard operating procedures (SOPs) and following quality procedures. Conduct job activities and manage safe operations within ethanol and hexane PSM areas. A good growth role and succession plan for those desiring to be production supervisors in the future.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.

    • Ensure product quality expectations are met.

    • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.

    • Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.

    • Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.

    • Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.

    • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.

    • Required to work overtime as specified by management.

    • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.

    Work Duties and Required Skills

    • Responsible for operating the field equipment in Extraction and SPC. Assisting with operations with board operators and supervision.

    • Obtaining field samples

    • Responsible for conducting building walkthroughs and reporting/troubleshooting any conditions or concerns with the operations team on shift.

    • Assist Prep/Extraction/SPC Supervisor with Lock-Out-Tagout activities.

    • Accurate reporting with necessary paperwork and administrative tasks.

    • Notify Lead Person if any out-of-spec quality conditions exist.

    • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues in the Extraction/SPC Runner position.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.

    • At times, overtime will be required.

    Job Requirements:

    Required Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    Desired Experience:

    • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Experience with large manufacturing equipment

    • Experience with PSM

    • Experience operating equipment using HMI control systems

    On-The-Job Training Requirements:

    • New colleagues will need to undergo on-the-job training to acquire skills and certifications, which will be assessed according to established standards

    • Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training

    • Participate in company planner operations training

    • Equipment training may include but not limited to JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.
