    POSITION DETAILS

    CUNY School of Law is a national leader in progressive legal education with a dual mission of training diverse students to become excellent public interest attorneys and providing access to the profession for members of historically underrepresented communities. As part of its mission, the Law School prepares students to practice "Law in the Service of Human Needs."

    Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and exercising independent judgment, the Executive Director oversees and supports the fiscal and administrative operations of the Academic Affairs Division.

    The Executive Director establishes and implements procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the Division, with a particular focus on faculty teaching schedules, development of the academic calendar, Summer Law Institute, Pre-law orientation program, and office administration.

    In collaboration with the Academic Dean coordinates, implements and evaluates the Law School's academic support programs with a focus on student success during law school and bar exam preparedness.

    The Executive Director manages data forinstitutional surveys such as ABA, U.S. News, Peterson, and Princeton. Develop and implement techniques to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of data collection, research and reporting activities.

    Assists in hiring and supervising adjunct faculty. Manages the appointment of teaching assistants and research assistants and develops and coordinates the new faculty orientation.

    In consultation with the Dean of Law School and Academic Dean prepares documents, agendas and minutes for monthly Faculty Meetings.

    Works collaboratively with the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Division and other administrative departments.

    This position is eligible to work hybrid (70% in person and 30% remote), until further notice.

    This position may require evening and weekend work.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below.

    Excellent supervisory, organizational and administrative skills;

    Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills;

    Skills in development, implementation and execution of programs;

    Ability to work with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds;

    Proven record of progressive administrative experience that includes academic affairs or comparable position;

    Proven record of accomplishment working in multi-racial and multicultural institutions;

    In-depth knowledge of traditional and innovative law school curricula, as well as familiarity with law school admissions issues, academic support programs, and bar exam preparation issues;

    Excellent communication (oral and written), facilitation, collaborative, and interpersonal skills required.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    $145,00 - $157,000

    Salary commensurate with education and experience.
