  • Estimating Coordinator Job Overview The person in this position coordinates, organizes, and reports on all aspects of the estimating team up to final handoff to the operations team; works with project managers and purchasing through the submittal process. Ideally, this candidate will have a desire to grow into a junior estimating position within the next couple of years. The successful Estimating Coordinator is highly skilled in being a liaison between estimators, project management, purchasing, and other teams working the project to provide the highest levels of communication, productivity, quality, timeliness, and efficiency in the competitive construction market, while incorporating UMC's Vision, Mission and, Core Values. Estimating Coordinator Responsibilities and Duties (Essential Job Functions)
    • Identify and communicate resources needs to management
    • Administration including Request for Information (RFI's), Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI), submittals, Request for Quote (RFQ) change management
    • Bid tracking, scheduling and coordinating
    • Data entry on bid tracking sheet for all pertinent project info and customer feedback
    • Data analysis from the bid tracking sheet
    • Insurance certifications
    • OCIP/CCIP enrollments
    • Customer prequalification submissions
    • Manage the submittal process to ensure timely completion while also updated the submittal log to ensure all project team member have access to accurate information
    • Coordinate project handoff meetings and tasks to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner
    • Perform any other duties or tasks that may be integral to the success of the estimating team
    • Coordinate business development opportunities
    • Travel as needed or required
    Estimating Coordinator Qualifications:
    • Must have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
    • Must have 1-3 years of recent experience as a project management assistant, project coordinator, or estimating assistant.
    • Must support UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Value statements, demonstrate a high degree of integrity and maintain the confidentiality of personnel and business information.
    • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, initiative, and communications skills.
    • Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, plans, and applicable building codes.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess the aptitude to learn and use additional computer software as needed, i.e., Field View, Bluebeam, Vista by Viewpoint.
    • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; climb or balance; stand; walk; lift or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds; work overhead and in cramped quarters. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver's license, be able to pass a commercial motor vehicle physical, and be able to drive on adverse road conditions.
