The Institutional Equities division of TD Securities provides equity sales, trading, research, underwriting, and distribution from offices in Canada and the US.
As an Equity Research Associate, covering the technology sector, you will contribute directly to the ideation, research, and publication of market-moving research reports. You will hone critical analysis skills, learn about disruptive technologies, make an impact on capital markets, and develop a valuable network of c-suite executives and institutional investors.
Develop novel, thought-provoking research to help investors make critical investment decisions.
Source, analyze, and generate insights from company and industry data.
Leverage industry knowledge and analyses to forecast earnings in complex financial models.
Develop valuation tools by staying current with market developments.
Job Requirements:
Excellent financial analysis and spreadsheet skills.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Superior business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated interest in capital markets and the ability to apply finance theory. Candidates with capital markets experience are preferred.
Manage time to work independently under strict deadlines, with high attention to detail. Hours can sometimes be long and unpredictable.
Strong work ethic and initiative.
Educational Assets:
Preference for finance and business qualifications - must be comfortable working with financial statements.
An engineering or computer science degree and/or experience in the technology industry are strong assets.
Designations, such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or CA/CPA, are an asset.
