    Description of Work Unit

    To provide a wide variety of essential heavy equipment services to maintain and service the outside physical environment of the Colorado State University campuses.

    Position Summary

    This position exists to provide a wide variety of essential services, both emergency and non-emergency, to the campus community. These services require the use of heavy equipment such as: loaders, dump trucks with plows and sanders, asphalt rollers, skid steers with attachments etc. The services include, but are not limited to, excavations for campus utilities, street and road maintenance, a wide variety of hauling needs, snow removal etc. The position is also required to maintain safety at every work site for the campus users.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:

    • Three (3) years of experience operating a dump truck, loader or equipment appropriate to the work assignment.

    • Must possess a Colorado Commercial Drivers' license - Class B with air brake services.*Please note, license must be attached to the application."

    • Experience operating both dump truck and loader.

    • Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs to the heavy equipment.

    • Experienced in the use of some special equipment such as forklifts, compactors etc.

    • Knowledge of rigging, hauling, lifting, etc.

    • Providing support services in the process of utility excavations for both repairs and new installations.

    • State service experience.
