  • The Environmental Specialist is responsible for supporting local management in establishing and continuously improving environmental performance and environmental programs.

    • As HSE Professional Trainee, become familiar with Schlumberger HSE culture and environmental system.

    • As Junior HSE Professional, understand HSE roles, support the location, fully understand Schlumberger HSE system.

    • As HSE Professional, take control of HSE operations at the location. Perform location environmental data analysis.

    • As Senior HSE Professional, manage environmental programs at the location including planning, coaching employees and junior HSE staff.

    • Develop managers' awareness and ensure environmental programs are an integral part of line management responsibilities and objectives.

    • Assist line management in understanding and implementing the HSE Management System.

    • Liaise with local contractors and agencies regarding environmental programs.

    • Assess local environmental risks and develop risk controls.

    • Generate local environmental procedures, work instructions and checklists as required.

    • Prepare and monitor plans defining how the environmental aspects of the HSE Management System are implemented at the location level. Monitor and recommended improvements.

    • Monitor compliance to policies, standards and procedures.

    • Plan and assist in compliance audits and self-audits. Advise management on corrective action required.

    • Participate in the screening and environmental training of personnel, including contractors.

    • Keep abreast of new documentation and training material related to environmental management and inform management accordingly.

    • Ensure that environmental documentation is updated and available on site.

    • Advise management on the compliance of the local environmental program with Schlumberger, local and national requirements and regulations.

    • Monitor and follow up on environmental reports and facilitate LPT meetings and HSE audits.

    • Support line management in investigations of environmental incidents.

    • Maintain a high level of awareness among personnel through communications, training and promoting active involvement in environmental programs.

    • Perform regular QUEST reviews to ensure the logged data is correct and up to date, and to analyze environmental performance trends for the location.

    • A degree in environmental management or 3-5 years' experience as environmental consultant/specialist.
