    Job Description

    AECOM 's Environment team in Ontario is looking for an Environmental Scientist . This is a Full-Time role with a flexible work location, where the qualified candidate can work out of our Markham, Mississauga, Hamilton or Kitchener office locations. Work will vary depending on the applicant's experience and career aspirations. This position is ideally suited to a junior scientist or engineer's seeking a mix of field and office responsibilities.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to

    Field tasks:

    • Sample collection of various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour, etc.) as part of environmental site investigations, design work packages, and confirmation of remediation programs.

    • Oversight of contractors.

    • Monitoring and maintenance of remediation systems.

    • General field inspection and field survey.

    • Construction / remediation construction field services oversight.

    • Safety tailgate meetings and hazard assessments.

    Office tasks:

    • Coordination and preparation for field programs

    • Preparation of safety plans and hazards assessments

    • Data tabulation and data evaluation against provincial and federal environmental requirements

    • Support of Engineering calculations and design.

    • Support of deliverable preparation including reports, engineering specifications, and associated drawings.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Will be completing or have completed a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline: Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Environmental Engineering.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Eligible eventual licensing as a Registered Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.

    • Valid driver's license.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $51,000.00 - $65,000.00.
