    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Supervises the daily operations of Environmental and Regulatory Programs and staff. Manages staff on the detailed development and implementation of program areas. Provides technical leadership, work management, and administration to E&RP personnel performing technical, administrative, and field based work tasks. Assesses the impact of Energy Northwest operations on the environment. Assists in developing goals and objectives for the E&RP staff. Ensures that all programs meet regulatory commitments and requirements. Responds to Washington State and federal agency requests for information. This supervisor position also serves as the program owner for one or more technical areas of E&RP focus. This position will supervise at least three direct reports.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Provides leadership to assigned personnel. Implements strategies for maximizing efficiency, meeting regulatory compliance and decreasing costs to meet department objectives and achieve continuous improvement

    Maintain interfaces with environmental regulators to ensure adequate communications and identification and resolution of problems.

    Provides direct supervision to include the following

    • The technical staff managing Energy Northwest environmental programs including, water, waste, natural/cultural resources, performance improvement and others.

    • Provide supervision to assure information provided by E&RP staff to the local, state and federal regulators is complete and accurate.

    • Assists the E&RP Manager in developing short- and long-term goals and objectives for improvement within the department.

    • Makes recommendations regarding employment, performance expectations/reviews, promotions, salary changes, transfers and terminations.

    • Resolves personnel problems, allocates work, reviews, approves procedures, assists, and trains subordinates as necessary.

    Serve as the program owner for at least one Energy Northwest E&RP program (eg. Air program), with the primary responsibility of regulatory oversight, implementation, procedure ownership, and as the company subject matter expert on the program topics

    Support continued plant operations, emergency preparedness, and outage activities in a leadership role as assigned

    Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated.

    Must support the biennial refueling outage

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biological Science, Chemistry, or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or university and six years of environmental or engineering experience at a power plant or other industrial facility, three of which were in direct support of regulatory licensing and compliance programs at an operating energy facility. Environmental compliance experience in at least two subject matter areas is required.

    Additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered on a one to one basis. A PE license obtained by an accredited examination may be considered in lieu of a degree. High school diploma or GED is required.

    Pay Range

    $136,961.00 - $205,441.00 Annual

    Midpoint

    $171,201.00

    Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

    Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

    Incentive Compensation

    This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
