  • Description: The Palmdale Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) department is a dynamic and diverse team of professionals supporting Lockheed Martin Aeronautics across Southern California, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah. Based in Palmdale, California-45 minutes northeast of Los Angeles-this department leverages cutting-edge Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental technologies to ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local regulations.

    What You Will Be Doing

    As the EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring environmental, health, and safety standards are met across multiple programs, including unclassified and classified projects for Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works and Advanced Development Programs. You will:

    -Lead a team of 10 Safety and Health professionals, providing guidance and support for Job Hazard Analysis, Chemical Management, employee monitoring, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    -Collaborate with site leadership to ensure safety and health protocols are aligned with operational goals, addressing both immediate and long-term company objectives.

    -Oversee the planning and implementation of environmental and safety changes in physical facilities, ensuring compliance with new regulatory requirements.

    -Interpret, recommend, and enforce compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.

    -Provide input to federal and state regulatory bodies through trade associations and industry groups to influence the development and revision of EHS regulations.

    -Ensure understanding and compliance with California Worker Compensation requirements.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline

    Experience in a Safety field of work

    Experience in Lock out Tag Out, and/or Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Ergonomics

    Desired Skills:

    Bachelors/Masters degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline

    Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

    Industrial Hygienist

    Understanding of Workers Comp

    Injury/Illness investigation experience

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

    Pay Rate:

    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $107,400 - $205,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.

    Pay Rate:

    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $123,500 - $232,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
