    Job Description:

    L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking an Engineering Technician A to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility.

    The Engineering Technician A p erforms a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. They assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. They also construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.

    Essential Functions:

    • Work from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

    • Work with complex machines or computer systems.

    • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modification, and replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.

    • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.

    • Work to achieve operational targets within the functional area.

    • Participate in continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.

    • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure.

    • Willing to work overtime as required.

    • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

    • Able to work in both team and individual contributor roles, with minimal supervision.

    • Able to personally lift and carry up to 32 lbs.

    Qualifications:

    • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Knowledgeable with Microsoft suite and personal computing devices.

    • Familiar with electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tools, and ESD practices.

    • IPC 610/620 Certification.
