    The duties and responsibilities of this temporary position are to act as an Engineering Services Advisor on one of our Programs. This will include supporting test equipment software engineering, reliability engineering special studies and taking on a mentoring role to improve overall engineering strengths in these areas.

    In this role an applicant is expected to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks. Such tasks include planning and execution of experiments to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support engineering disciplines. The applicant will also be expected to analyze, maintain, compile and format data and design changes, as well as to produce drawings, reports, and engineering documentation.

    What you will do

    • Act in a mentoring capacity to test engineering staff to include troubleshooting test stations, fault isolation, data collection and parametric analysis.

    • Maintain the operating systems (Open VMS and VMS) including file structures, all assigned test equipment software drivers, and the data collection to the central server.

    • Review and advise on test software enhancements to the RATEL test code, debug testing, validation testing and finalization. The applicant is required to have an experienced background with Open VMS, VMS and RATEL software.

    • Conduct extensive investigation to understand the root causes of problems.

    • Improve upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation.

    • Minimal travel required

    Qualifications you must have

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience

    • Experienced background with Open VMS, VMS and RATEL software.

    • Experience with test equipment software development, testing and validation.

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • M.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering

    • Experience in a mentoring capacity to bring engineers up to speed on evaluation of test faults.

    This is a temporary position of an undetermined length.
