  • Overview:

    An Engineer II is primarily responsible for the completion of Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas. Engineer II is responsible for repairs and maintenance to include but not limited to: wallpaper & paint, grout and tile, HVAC basic maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical. Engineer II works with Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer to plan and complete Preventative Maintenance of all Guest rooms according to Annual Task Schedule and in compliance with PHR and Brand standards.

    1. Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:

    1. Provide general "handyman" skills

    2. Makes all necessary room and public area repairs to ensure asset condition meets standard.

    3. Understands and coordinates completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment

    4. Utilizes the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist to assist with enacting repairs that have been identified

    5. Returns the PM Cart to the PM closet in Engineering and assists with replenishing stock from in-house inventories.

    6. Performs all work as assigned, in conjunction with the PM Team Captain and PM Engineer to include the following tasks:

    7. door hardware, gaskets and thresholds

    8. wall paper repair

    9. touch up painting

    10. ceiling vents

    11. ceiling condition

    12. lighting fixtures

    13. check small appliances

    14. check large appliances

    15. check electronics (TV's remotes, alarm clocks, VCP's, etc.)

    16. carpet wear and loose threads

    17. furniture tight, drawers aligned, properly positioned

    18. electrical outlets work, plate covers in place, lights activate from wall switch

    19. HVAC unit functional

    20. Closet rod, towel bars, tub grab bars all secure

    21. Plumbing fixtures functional and secure

    22. Drapery hardware complete and functional

    23. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:

    24. Laundry equipment

    25. Kitchen equipment

    26. Air handlers

    27. Pumps and Motors

    Qualifications:

    Experience

    Two years prior experience in building maintenance or related industry. Special courses in building maintenance and construction.

    Experience

    Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High School diploma required

    Experience

    Professional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc. preferred

    Experience

    Significant experience with all maintenance disciplines.
