    Department Description

    The Employee Wellness Program is designed to help the HPU faculty and staff lead healthier lives by providing opportunities for activity as well as offering education and awareness around lifestyle factors that influence individuals' well-being.

    Job Description

    Assistant should exhibit an outgoing and friendly manner as well as a sincere desire to assist in the improvement of the health and well-being of the HPU faculty and staff. This position will reinforce leadership skills, independent thinking, communication skills, and management concepts. Assistant may be called upon to assist the Director of Employee Wellness with day-to-day operational concerns such as correspondence, product evaluation, date entry, program documentation and implementation. Student assistant will also assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the employee wellness social media campaign.

    Job Location/ Hours Required

    The candidate will perform most/all job duties in the Employee Wellness Center. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours.

    Responsibilities:
    • Interact with employees to facilitate a positive wellness experience.
    • Ensure the cleanliness of the Employee Wellness Center (EWC).
    • Monitor and enforce EWC policies.
    • Perform regular equipment inspections and promptly report any concerns to the Director or Employee Wellness.
    • Assisting with design and implementation of new social media campaigns; uploading and editing content, video footage for the department's social media platforms. (Content and digital images must align with HPU's brand and philosophy.)
    • Monitor social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
    • Strategic planning sessions to incorporate cohesive and creative social media campaigns for the division.
    • Posting to social media platforms at a minimum of 3 times a week.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications:

    Applicants should be intrinsically motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle. Individuals with a major in Exercise Science or Health and Wellness are preferred, but not required. Prior social media experience is encouraged.

    Desired Skills:
    • Must have experience and understanding with social media platforms; Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Canva, etc.
    • Must be motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills.
    • Outgoing, friendly, independent thinker with strong customer service skills
    • Must have creativity and strategic thinking.
    • Must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA.
