    Hourly rate for Process Technician position: $23.00- $27.00 per hour depending on experience.

    ABOUT THE JOB

    Vergent Products is seeking a full-time Electronics Test Technician for First Shift (M-F: 7:00am - 3:30pm) to support on the manufacturing floor in the machine centers by using established processes and product. You will assemble and test simple to complex electronic and electro-mechanical products in a contract manufacturing team-based environment using established procedures. You will also act as the initial point of contact for issues related to test, calibration, or repairing PCBA. As a key team member, you will identify root cause of failures and fix defective products and report actual and potential quality issues for corrective/preventative action.

    As the Electronics Test Technician you will:

    • Safely test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair to component level any electronic and/or electro-mechanical products from written documentation (procedures, schematics, etc). Tasks and duties will vary according to the assignment and may include new production build, customer returns, warranty products or incoming assemblies.
    • Identify root cause of failures and fix defective products. Report actual and potential quality issues for corrective/preventative action.
    • Manage time and resources to ensure on-time delivery of product at or below standard times without direct supervision.
    • Completes work according to relevant standards (IPC). Provide training and auditing of production personnel to ensure relevant standards are met.
    • Makes recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost.
    • Trains and directs others to carry out established procedures.
    • Performs deep component level troubleshooting from theory of operation and schematics. Performs 2nd order root cause failure analysis.
    • Performs defined maintenance procedures on complex machines and test equipment.
    • Sets up new products in existing processes (simple machine programming or recipe selection).
    • Evaluates alternative processes, tools and equipment for manufacturing and makes recommendations to improve production procedures.
    • Implements recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost. Work with production to achieve zero manufacturing defects and field failures.

    Requirements:

    • (preferred)AAS or equivalent experience in manufacturing, electronics or electro-mechanic discipline.
    • Able to work independently, with minimal guidance and supervision
    • Strict attention to detail – disciplined to follow procedures or change them appropriately
    • The ability to think on your feet and operate in a fast paced environment
    • Able to initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts
    • The ability to develop creative solutions to problems
    • Can do attitude – action oriented with sense of urgency
    • Integrity – makes commitments then meets commitments.
