Job Title: Electrician
Job Description
Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machinery. Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining the form and texture of parts. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and straightedges. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. Assist with planning and closing the loop on work orders in Maximo. Record parts and materials used, and order or create requisitions for new parts and materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Responsibilities
Complete preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.

Essential Skills
Red Seal 442A Millwright License or Electromechanical College Diploma in Quebec.
2+ years of Canadian Electrician experience in an industrial environment.
Experience with PLCs.
Possession of own set of tools, including a multimeter capable of measuring over 600V.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding and cutting skills.
Experience working at heights.
Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.

Work Environment
Work in an industrial roofing manufacturing plant that is a hot and dusty environment. The facility is large, comprising four different areas, with 40% of the work being outside and 60% inside. Key areas include the Shingle Line, Oxidizer, Crusher, and Razz section. The maintenance team consists of 12 people along with contractors. The shift times are 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am on a continental schedule, alternating between day and night shifts every two weeks.
