Job Title: Electrical Machine Builder (robotics and automation electrician)

$35-45 per hour | Hamilton, ON | Flexible Day Shift

Job Description

As an Electrical Machine Builder, you will be responsible for panel building and wiring of custom automation equipment. You will work with PLCs and VFDs, engage in electromechanical assemblies, and ensure the smooth operation of all electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical panels for custom automation equipment (eg. packaging machinery, conveyor belts, etc.)

• Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

• Perform electromechanical assemblies.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics.

• Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical components.

• Engage in machine building activities.

Essential Skills

• Experience in electrical schematic reading.

• Proficiency in panel building and wiring.

• Knowledge of automation/robotics equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

• Experience in installing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical components.

• Experience in machine building.

• 442A or 309A certification.

Work Environment

This role is based in a custom manufacturing shop specializing in automation and robotics equipment and solutions. The shop is temperature-controlled and well-organized, housing about 40 people. The workday starts at 7 or 8 AM and runs for 8.5 hours (with 8 hours paid). You will need to travel internationally for up to 25% of the role. The environment is conducive to productivity and collaboration, with all designs and engineering done on-site, followed by machining and fabrication of parts. We can take you as a permanent employee or contract worker depending on your preference (incorporated individuals welcome).
