    Summary

    The Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical installations and systems. The role's primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections at various project milestones to verify adherence to design specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment

    • Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear; body motions and movements include bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing, with or without reasonable accommodation

    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty-five lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to seventy-five lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation

    • Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle, including wetlands, swamps, grasslands, and fields with uneven surfaces, sand, brush, and other natural and man-made obstacles

    • This job is primarily performed in an office setting, but field visits may be required where regular exposure to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loud

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performed detailed inspections of electrical systems at various project stages

    • Verify electrical installations comply with design plans, codes and safety standards

    • Document and report inspection findings, highlighting any discrepancies or issues

    • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve identified issues

    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant regulations and standards

    • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams regarding electrical systems and inspections

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practices

    • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection protocols and procedures

    • Other duties may be assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)

    • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification).

    • Ability to read & write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Knowledge of written communication formats and composition, including grammar and vocabulary. Ability to present to one or more people, including customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients.

    • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and CRM software.

    • Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or create, and interpret, bar graphs.

    • Reasoning ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently. Ability to work with problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to effectively communicate about products, services, and technical requirements to both the client/customer and employees within UES.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license

    • Previous experience in the A/E/C industry

    • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations

    • Understands milestone inspections

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting abilities

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Proficiency in relevant software and tools
