    Early Childcare Educator - Licensed

    About the Position:

    Care and Curriculum

    • Provide unbiased, trauma-informed care of children according to developmental needs.
    • Ensure the safety, well-being, and continuous supervision of children at all times
    • Arrange classroom space and educational materials as developmentally appropriate.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for children.
    • Collaborate to plan developmentally appropriate activities.
    • Collaborate with co-teachers(s) regarding classroom coverage, curriculum planning, and care of children.
    • Alert Childcare Coordinator with developmental concerns children.
    • Report any issues concerning staff, children or parents to the Childcare Coordinator and aid in the resolution of these problems.
    • Prepare for and attend necessary meetings, trainings and supervision, including:
      • One childcare staff meeting/ month
      • Acquire at least 27 hours of professional development per year
      • Monthly supervision with childcare coordinator.

    Documentation, Observations and Paperwork

    • Complete daily paperwork for classrooms and programs including, but not limited to, Bright Wheel documentation, nutrition, and meal counts in an objective, accurate, and timely manner.
    • Ensure that documentation of children's development using TS Gold, Bright Wheel and ASQ is complete and submitted on time.
    • Maintain up to date interrater reliability certification for TS Gold if required.

    Communication and Collaboration

    • Maintain good working relationships with community organizations
    • Consult with community partners as needed.
    • Report suspected child abuse or neglect to DCF in accordance with regulations.
    • Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
    • Communicate, clarify, and reiterate Lund's policies related to children and families when necessary.
    • Provide helpful information and resources to parents as needed.
    • Model appropriate interactions with children and consistent professional behavior at all times.
    • Communicate directly as necessary and professionally with other coworkers.
    • Work as a member of the Early Childhood Education team.

    Other Duties

    • Some irregular hours are necessary to attend community functions and training.
    • Prepare for and attend necessary meetings, trainings, and supervision, including:
      • One childcare staff meeting per month
      • Classroom team meetings
      • 27 hours of professional development per year
      • Monthly supervision with the Childcare Coordinator
    • Other duties as assigned
    What We Look For:
    • Teaching license in early childhood is required.
    • Ability to maintain a valid VT driver's license and access reliable transportation is required.
    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position either with or without reasonable accommodation including physical abilities necessary to respond to young children's activity level and needs.
    • Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background check.
    • Regular attendance is necessary and essential to meeting the expectations of the job.
