SLB New Energy is seeking a highly driven and motivated Domain Champion - Process Engineering Mining & metallurgy to be part of our Critical Minerals Group. This position is focused on providing innovative and cost-effective solutions requiring the development and/or sustaining of new and improved techniques, procedures or products. The Domain Champion Process Engineering plans, conducts and evaluates approaches to meet the project objectives in a timely fashion.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design equipment or technologies to match specifications required to help customers maximize production.
determine the best process or equipment design for the application.
Lead the development and creation of all project process deliverables.
Support and interface with product delivery organization for field development planning and offering multi-discipline services.
Perform complex process simulations utilizing business-defined software.
Perform equipment process design and sizing.
Support performing final review of Project Job Manuals.
Perform Peer Reviews of team design work including proposals, cost estimates, deliverables, and fabrication drawings.
Assist in identifying and organizing requirements and producing specifications.
Analyze, design, develop and maintain products and assist in their commercialization. Apply relevant usability procedures and principles.
Produce analyses and mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those.
Build prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing. Set up and run lab simulations. Design and implement tests, document results and develop customer presentations. Provide timely corrective actions on defects.
Conduct or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts. Contribute to design standards and support design re-use.
Assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. With seniority, mentor junior engineers.
Create and maintain product documentation. Provide support to field and customers through InTouch. Provide user training as required.
Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations. Share expertise via Eureka and special interest groups. Expand informal network throughout the organization.
Keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. Adopt new practices readily to develop innovative and low-cost products.
Maintain familiarity with company technology, organization and business.
Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in chemical engineering - further education is preferred, candidates with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and relevant experience as an SME / Domain Champion Process engineering will be considered.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering design, FEED studies related to hydrometallurgy, mining, water processing, chemical plants capital projects.
Previous experience managing client interactions and third-party partners and suppliers through capital projects design & delivery.
Knowledge of Direct Lithium Extraction technologies (DLE) is a plus.
Knowledge of simulation software (Aspen Hysys, etc ) is a plus.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team and thrive for the success of the projects.
