    The Director, Privacy owns the strategy and operation of Entrust's global data privacy program. The Director, Privacy is organized, efficient, and flexible; thrives in a fast-paced environment; and welcomes challenge and change.

    Responsibilities:

    The following represent the key responsibilities of the role as they exist today. This role may expand to include privacy-related responsibilities that may be new to the Director, Privacy as the program evolves.

    Strategy and Leadership

    • Own the global privacy program and manage the global privacy team to ensure implementation of privacy-enhancing measures across the business.

    • Roll out behavioral change initiatives to drive adoption of privacy practices and execute annual awareness campaigns (e.g., Data Privacy Day).

    • Identify and analyze privacy challenges within the global business and recommend and implement solutions.

    • Track the progress of the privacy program and provide updates to key internal stakeholders, including facilitation of quarterly privacy steering committee meetings.

    • Serve as the voice of privacy both within and outside of the company.

    • Act as a point of escalation for the privacy team.

    Privacy Operations and Advice

    The Director, Privacy will need to advise all business teams (e.g., Product, R&D, HR, Marketing, Sales, IT) on a wide range of day-to-day privacy issues. For example, they will need to:

    • Advise on the privacy compliance of new products, including AI and biometric based products.

    • Draft legal compliance documentation including DPIAs, LIAs, TIAs and ROPAs.

    • Negotiate data protection clauses in contracts with clients and vendors, and draft and maintain playbooks for the same.

    • Handle requests from data subjects and law enforcement.

    • Lead on privacy considerations of personal data breaches.

    Outreach, Training and Communication

    • Proactively liaise with data protection regulators (e.g., in response to public consultations or in respect of product proposals).

    • Maintain and enhance internal and external privacy resources and landing pages and advise on strategies for making privacy compliance a key differentiator and competitive advantage.

    • Create and deliver targeted communications to colleagues on key privacy topics as needed.

    Other

    • Participate with Internal Audit on enterprise risk management activities related to privacy risks.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • JD required

    • 8+ years of applicable experience

    • Considerable experience advising on data privacy laws

    • Excellent academic and work background including prior law firm experience

    • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience managing a team of senior lawyers

    • Experience with US biometric laws

    • Experience advising on privacy considerations related to AI

    • Experience working in-house - preferably for a company with 27001 and 27701 ISO certifications

    • Experience with privacy related litigation Ability to work in fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize

    • Experience with systems reporting and metrics

    • Team player with strong people skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and external customers

    • IAPP certifications
