    Job Overview:

    • Salary: $130,000 per year

    • Shift: Monday to Friday (Flexible Monday), Tuesday to Friday from 5 AM to 4 PM

    Job Description:

    The Director of Operations is responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of day-to-day plant activities, including engineering, production scheduling, and quality assurance. This position will identify, develop, and execute lean manufacturing projects, evaluate current and proposed systems and procedures, and implement necessary changes. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operations to ensure the company delivers quality products on schedule while meeting efficiency and productivity objectives.

    • Continually improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.

    • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to support strategic initiatives.

    • Establish group and individual accountabilities for problem-solving and cost reduction.

    • Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.

    • Reduce quality costs through analysis of non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

    • Attain performance objectives, review standard performance charts, lead weekly plant performance improvement meetings, verify leaders' standard work, conduct Gemba walks, and spend time on the floor reviewing processes and communicating with employees.

    • Ensure business objectives and production schedules are met while exceeding product standards.

    • Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.

    • Establish management practices that include positive employee involvement and constructive input.

    • Provide direction to production teams and collaborate with other departments such as Sales, HR, and Finance to facilitate production flow and achieve goals.

    • Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

    • Drive a continuous improvement culture and promote lean activities.

    • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, development, and retention.

    • Hold the team accountable for achieving results and take action when necessary.

    • Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.

    • Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

    • Coordinate maintenance activities to keep production equipment and facilities in proper condition.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • 5+ years of progressive experience managing teams of 10+ in a manufacturing setting required.

    • Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, including M&I flow, Standard Operations, plant layout, waste elimination, continuous improvement, and engineering change control.

    • Proven record of prioritizing safety within a manufacturing environment.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.

    • Strong communication, leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and programs to all levels of the organization.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on delivering customer expectations.

    • Proven track record of successfully managing a P&L for a manufacturing facility.

    • Strong initiative and leadership to drive others to meet commitments.

    • Efficient time management and ability to manage multiple priorities without missing deadlines.

    • Fosters teamwork, communication, and mutual respect throughout the company.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    • Ability to reach with hands and arms.

    • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $130000.00
