Director of Accounting

Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a Director of Accounting consultant to support our growth-stage consumer goods client on a 4-6-month hybrid engagement based in El Segundo, California. This consultant will report to the CFO and serve as the accounting lead with primary responsibilities including: managing month-end close, overseeing all accounting functions and team members, preparing and presenting financial statements, cash management, audit liaison, and performing any necessary accounting research and ad hoc reporting.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all accounting functions within the company, ensuring all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

• Leading the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Supervising team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Preparing and presenting comprehensive financial statements, providing clear and concise financial insights.

• Managing cash flow within the organization, implementing effective cash management strategies.

• Serving as the primary contact during audits, ensuring all necessary information is readily available.

• Conducting in-depth accounting research as required and producing ad hoc reports to support business decisions.

• Leveraging your experience with NetSuite to streamline and improve accounting processes.

• Utilizing your knowledge of omnichannel operations in the consumer goods industry to drive accounting efficiency.

• Applying your expertise in inventory accounting to manage and optimize inventory processes.

Requirements

• Proven 7+ years of experience in Accounting Management is essential (CPA highly preferred).

• Mastery of financial reporting, including the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.

• Proficiency in NetSuite, demonstrating the ability to use this software to manage and streamline accounting processes.

• Familiarity with omnichannel strategies (ex: consumer-packaged goods, apparel, food & beverage), with a focus on their financial implications and how they can be integrated into accounting practices.

• Expertise in Inventory Accounting, with the ability to accurately track and manage company inventory from a financial perspective.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), including the ability to ensure all accounting activities adhere to these standards.

• Experience in Cash Management, including the ability to effectively manage and forecast cash flow.

• Excellent leadership skills, with a history of directing and developing accounting teams.
