    What you'll do...

    The Director, Global Communications - Marketplace is a strategic and forward-thinking communications leader who thrives on innovation. As a key counselor to the Walmart U.S. Marketplace business, you will develop, lead, and execute a communications strategy supporting the growth of one of the fastest growing eCommerce platforms in the world. This position will drive excitement and awareness of new and innovative services with key stakeholders, and current and future marketplace sellers.

    Position Summary:

    Join the Global Communications team at Walmart and shape the future of retail by driving excitement about Marketplace products and services with key stakeholders and consumer audiences. As a communications lead for Walmart U.S. Marketplace, you will direct communications efforts - long and short-term supporting the growth of our Walmart U.S. Marketplace business - ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences, including current and future marketplace sellers. This person should have experience in the communications landscape, including internal, external, executive, social and crisis communications. The job is not only responsible for national storytelling and advising senior leaders but driving engagement and brand building through supporting seller events that deepen awareness of Walmart Marketplace. The role also works cross-functionally to protect the Marketplace brand in a rapidly changing environment - exercising impeccable judgement and cultural understanding. This individual is skilled in strategy development, execution, and agency management. Marketplace experience isn't required, but candidates should have enough understanding of eCommerce operations to speak fluently and collaborate with business partners.

    You'll make an impact by:

    • Developing and executing 360 strategic communications plans for our Walmart U.S. Marketplace, business - including executive positioning, media relations, internal, stakeholder, and social/digital designed to reach various stakeholders and audiences.

    • Crafting compelling messages that resonate with key stakeholders and editing communication materials to drive a significant impact.

    • Engaging with business leaders across different stakeholder groups to drive collaboration and consensus.

    • Working with senior business leaders across different stakeholder groups to maximize Global Communication's impact to achieve business objectives.

    • Advising and collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders to enable efficient, seamless execution of communication campaigns.

    • Identifying opportunities, threats, and best practices while assessing data and metrics; leveraging insights and trends to enhance the communications approach and processes.

    You'll sweep us off our feet if:

    • Consistent record of working with national, trade, and local reporters and the skills to help shape a story through reporter engagement and external announcements.

    • You understand how to coordinate seamlessly with multiple, high-velocity partner teams across the organization on integrated cross-functional plans, programs, and program activities.

    • You have direct experience with eCommerce or B2B communications, specifically Marketplace communications.

    • You have a proven record of strengthening brand perception, including working quickly to align stakeholders to mitigate reputation risk.

    • You're confident using data as a key component of various strategies such as targeting and measurement.

    • You're an expert at making complex subjects easily understood through words and visuals.

    • You're energized by innovative ideas, testing new approaches, and pushing for constant improvement.

    Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

    The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

    Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area. 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
