How will you make an impact in this role?
The Finance Technology and Transformation Team is primarily responsible for advancing the long-term Finance technology objectives via evolution and implementation of the Finance Technology Strategy, and plays a key role in managing significant Technology implementations and investments while ensuring Finance efficiently deploys Technology , improves speed and automation of critical processes and increases shareholder value for American Express. The team oversees the Platform and Product roadmaps for Finance initiatives that are generally positioned as top enterprise priorities while creating opportunities for senior leadership to drive decisions against these roadmaps.
The successful candidate will be responsible for program managing significant, enterprise technology programs that have pan-Finance impacts. The candidate will work closely with cross functional Finance Product and Process Owners to manage the Finance Technology Strategy for American Express and managing the upgrade of Finance's critical applications and systems to meet changing standards and requirements. The director will work closely with cross functional teams/business units (e.g. Controllership, Corporate Planning, Treasury, Enterprise Data Platforms, Technologies) to ensure our long-term Finance Technology objectives are optimally managed and implemented.
Minimum Qualifications
8 years of cumulative Finance process and/or product management experience.
Advanced degree, or equivalent expertise, in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Data Management
Strong executive presence and proficiency in written and verbal communications
People leadership experience with demonstrated ability to delegate and mobilize resources against highest priorities.
Exceptionally strong collaboration and relationship management skills
Demonstrated skills navigating large, complex initiatives, solving problems, and paying attention to critical details.
Demonstrated tangible experience solving challenging problems and leading complex transformation initiatives.
Ability to synthesize detailed or voluminous information into clear and compelling communications.
Flexibility and ability to revise work plans adaptably to meet changing circumstances
Knowledge of American Express (or large financial institution) Finance systems, operational processes, and interdependencies
Proven ability to deliver change while minimizing corresponding operational risk
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or experience with American Express Finance/Enterprise Data platforms
Understanding of data sourcing and data management principles.
Knowledge of relational database concepts and public cloud implementation strategy
Qualifications
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
