    As the director of compensation, you will responsible for leading all broad-based compensation programs, the end-to-end transition of compensation programs and incentives into a new HRIS, and the pay equity/transparency strategy and analysis for the Company.

    As a director compensation, you will...

    • Lead cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to successfully transition multiple incentive plans, annual rewards cycles, and compensation programs into a new HRIS

    • Manage relationship with multiple external vendors to develop and deliver against set goals, budgets, and deadlines

    • Assess and develop the business case and return on investment of new HRIS solutions

    • Serve as the Compensation representative on the Advisory Council for the HRIS transition

    • Partner with global stakeholders to share best practices and plan for the global transition of compensation programs onto a new HRIS

    • Partner with cross-functional and global partners to lead, design and manage the global pay equity strategy, future roadmap and analysis/reporting for relevant markets

    • Lead the team to build and deliver against the pay transparency strategy while maintaining compliance with all legislative requirements

    • Work with and manage external vendors to support and advance Starbucks pay equity goals

    • Lead multiple annual rewards cycles in multiple countries, inclusive of education, training, resources, communications, and execution

    • Interface with senior leadership on compensation matters regarding future partner investments with broad-based impacts

    • Set goals and organize work for a high-performing work team and actively provide partners with coaching, feedback and development opportunities, modeling leadership behaviors for the larger team

    • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles

    • Be a member of the Total Rewards leadership team, reporting directly to the vp compensation

    We'd love to hear from people with:

    • Demonstrated skills in building technology solutions to execute compensation programs - 5+ years

    • Written and verbal skills, including preparation and delivery of presentation material to senior leadership - 5+ years

    • Project leadership from beginning to end, in a large, cross-functional environment - 6+ years

    • Program management of annual rewards cycles - 5+ years

    • Experience managing multiple vendors - 5+ years

    • Experience with pay equity analysis and communications - 4+ years

    • 8+ years of relevant, technical compensation management experiences including execution of complex, multi-year changes to compensation practices, programs, and technical solutions

    • Experience managing others - 5+ years

    • Experience working with employees in multiple countries.Knowledge of cultural norms and sensitivities.

    • Ability to navigate and problem solve with high degrees of ambiguity to deliver large and complex projects.

    • The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

    • Knowledge of US pay equity standards and best practices. Knowledge of global pay practices are a plus.

    • High attention to detail, responsiveness and dependability is required.

    • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences at all levels of the organization, delivering presentations and influencing leaders.

    *If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

    The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
