Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (West Sacramento, CA). will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Intermediate):

• Completes complex internal engine repairs

• Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

Needs to be proficient with mechanical tooling for bigger engines.

Needs well rounded understanding and experience with inner workings of engines and related components

Must have a great sense of pace and productivity efficiency.

Technical acumen to learn and work with software applications.

DOT

• A current valid CDL is required for this role.

• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations

• This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing

• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
