  • You will be responsible for the development and closing of diagnostic sales opportunities with Matco franchisees and/or their direct customers (automotive technicians). You will directly interface with franchisees (distributors) and automotive technicians.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Translate P&L goals into actionable sales plan, including territory analysis, KPI definition and management, and countermeasures

    • Develop, implement, and sustain diagnostics sales and training playbook and processes

    • Develop, implement, and sustain sales force strategy to constantly recommend best utilization of resources in different regions

    • Develop and maintain business relationships with Matco distributors and prospective end customers to generate new business for Matco's diagnostic products/services

    • Perform distributor ride-a-longs to prospect and close sales opportunities and continuously build distributors' knowledge of diagnostic applications and selling techniques

    • Perform territory and customer analytics, including market sizing, market segmentation, and voice of customers to sustain Diagnostics revenue and margin growth. Maintain knowledge of market trends, technologies, competitors, customer base, and market share of product lines

    • Support Diagnostics Sr. Product Manager in promotion set-ups, go-to-market strategies, pricing, and product roadmap

    • Hold distributor and end customer training and selling events necessary to drive sales results

    • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas

    • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, field operations management, accounting, supply chain, and technical service groups

    • Supply management with oral and written weekly reports on performance to forecast/sales plan, customer needs, issues, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services

    • Support Product Specialist on the development of standard work around product documentation, technical training, and support material (software updates, training presentations, application success stories, and marketing collateral to compete in the market)

    • Consult on design of new products for usability purposes

    • Alpha and beta testing program facilitation

    • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required

    • 5+ years of sales experience. Automotive aftermarket industry experience a plus

    • Project and process management skills required to successfully coordinate salesforce and manage funnel performance

    • History of driving results by managing with vision and purpose using a self-developed strategic product line plan and market analytics

    • Empathy and political savvy skills to build long-lasting relationship with customers

    • Ability to communicate and present critical information to all levels of employees and customers

    • The organizational agility, interpersonal, and political savvy skills necessary to gain cooperation of several departments that do not report directly to the position

    • Significant contribution to driving above market performance of product lines using commercialization tactics through a complex distribution network and direct sales force
