    Job Description:

    As a Desktop Engineer at GDIT you will play a key role in translating product requirements into technical solutions, leading the process, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute your technical expertise to problem-solving, and drive innovation and continuous improvement throughout all products GDIT manages and maintains.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Translate Product Requirements: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

    • Lead Technical Process: Lead the technical process from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and best practices.

    • Ensure High-Quality Solutions: Maintain a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, with a keen eye on scalability, reliability, and performance.

    • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including LITSS, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of infrastructure solutions with organizational goals and objectives.

    • Manage Product life Cycles: Ensure that product sites and CI baselines stay UpToDate and track update bulletins, security bulletins, end of support, end of life dates for all active products that are used in our system boundary.

    • Contribute Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance during problem-solving sessions, leveraging your knowledge to address complex technical challenges effectively.

    • Drive Innovation: Play a pivotal role in driving innovation by exploring and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.

    • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and technologies to optimize product delivery and support.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of proven experience in product support and product life cycle management

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent years of experience

    • Proven experience in infrastructure product engineering or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex technical solutions.

    • Strong understanding of ITSM principles, infrastructure technologies, including networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and storage solutions.

    • Experience using automation tools and frameworks.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to lead technical initiatives, drive consensus, and influence decision-making processes.

    • Passion for technology and a commitment to staying abreast of emerging trends and advancements in the field.

    • Relevant technical certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or similar, are desirable.

    • Experience with SLA requirements

    The likely salary range for this position is $76,690 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
