  • Item Manager/Inventory Specialist

    Purpose/Scope

    Provides complete inventory management services, plans and executes specific Supply Chain Management functions, DOD logistics policies and initiatives, and perform financial management procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of Inventory Management that includes, but is not limited to, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Leveling, Procurement Process Performance and Execution, Supplier Performance, and accurate invoicing for hazardous material (HM).

    • Establish, validate, and monitor the progress of commercial and Government purchasing requirements; expedites priority requisitions to eliminate work stoppages.

    • Analyze and manage demand histories and procurement statistics to ensure timely replenishment action is initiated for stocked items or are on order to meet customer requirements, develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of the operations.

    • Manage and maintain all facets of supply system information to include requisition status, cancellations, special inventories, drop shipments, Just-in-Time items, purchasing and inventory of hazardous material (HM), and selection of vendors.

    • Provide requisition status information or shipment status, etc, to the management support team.

    • Ensure that all material discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner and cost-efficient manner.

    • Initiate reports of discrepancies to all vendors and federal agencies and coordinates the disposition of discrepant material.

    • Responsible for forecasting, scheduling, directing transportation personnel, ordering receiving, stocking, issuing, tags, tracks, and inventories cylinders.

    • Ensure all supply functions including inventories, location surveys, and reconciliation of discrepancies.

    • Prepare and submit reports.

    • Serve as the acting Program Manager (PM) during the PMs absence.

    Minimum Knowledge

    • College degree in business administration/related filed and five (5) years of related work experience or equivalent training/experience.

    • Knowledge of inventory management procedures, tools, and techniques.

    • Must possess a valid driver's license.

    • Knowledge of Federal Supply System.

    • Experience with MS Office products to include Word and Excel.

    • Must have excellent communication skills.

    • May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

    • Experience is required conducting various supply procurement, logistics and or analysis, studies, and project management tasks.

    • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of Chemical Management Services (CMS) management and end to end supply chain management, and extensive experience with environmental program management.

    • At least three (3) years' experience using a Hazardous Material (HM) Tracking System equivalent to EESOH-MIS.

    Work Environment

    Work environment is both inside and outside company facility locations with a significant portion of time spent driving company vehicle(s). Constant sitting, routing, lifting of 50 lbs. and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. Must be able to work under deadlines. This position is required to be at the Amentum facility near Robins Air Force Base.
