    Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY

    Transports, repairs, assembles and distributes medical supplies, oxygen and equipment to patients' homes and other designated locations. Work includes replenishing vehicle par levels, completing required paperwork, and performing after-hour coverage and other related duties. Incumbents are assigned mandatory, rotating on-call.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Delivers, and/or retrieves medical equipment and supplies in a home and institutional environment; provides patient safety assessments as it relates to medical equipment and service; provides instruction on the use of equipment and sets goals for patients.

    • Replenishes vehicle PAR levels; cleans and stocks products and documents asset and lot numbers, as required.

    • Assists with inventory; documents patient equipment, specialty items and supply orders.

    • Records patient and departmental issues; inputs data on delivery tickets and manifests; completes all other documentation as required.

    • Cleans and inspects vehicles daily to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

    Performs related duties as required.

    Job Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Knowledge of oxygen and safety considerations associated with the use and transportation of oxygen; basic medical equipment and supplies.

    • Knowledge of geographic areas, medical terminology, unit workflow, FDA regulations associated with the delivery of a drug, processes and supply needs.

    • Ability to accurately inventory, educate patients, replenish and deliver medical supplies

    • Ability to prioritize deliveries according to time commitments and urgency.

    • Ability to assess patient needs, make recommendations and facilitate through the proper channels; perform assessment on patients regarding oxygen and nebulizer use on a Plan of Care.

    • Ability to clean and perform minor repairs on equipment as well as perform preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and complete a vehicle inspection report.

    • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.

    • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.

    Qualifications

    Education/Work Experience Requirements

    Satisfactory Abstract of Driving Record (Type: Employment Record) must be provided and meet departmental standards.

    One year of Home Medical Equipment experience and driving a single axle truck is preferred. Medical terminology that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities is preferred.

    Licensure/Certification

    Current Washington State Driver's License, subject to state vehicle verification to comply with hospital insurance requirements.

    Pay Range

    $17.39 - $24.87 /hour
