As a CO+I Data Center IT Operations Manager , you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

    In the Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager role, you will work with the Datacenter Operations Manager and Datacenter Project Managers to drive and implement consistent programs across your datacenter. With your team, you will enable the build out, onboarding and operationalization of new datacenter capacity, and actively participate in the incident and outage process to ensure proper root cause analysis and appropriate follow-up with affected site contacts. This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, and expertise in enterprise-level operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities

    • Leading and managing a team of high-performing individual contributors and their ongoing talent development

    • Managing and overseeing datacenter site services, logistics, and deployment

    • Collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of service levels

    • Analyzing production operations and initiate corrective actions to ensure operational stability

    • Initiate and establish quality standards for the Datacenter teams and manage those initiatives through to completion

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure)

    • 2+years of experience leading a diverse, technical workforce

    • Experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 environment

    Other Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

    • Criminal Justice Information Services: This position may require passing a background check conducted through the CJIS criminal justice information system by authorized local, state, and/or federal agencies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Enterprise-level Experience in managing large-scale and complex projects/programs

    • Working knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in a large global enterprise

    • Problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis, and attention to detail

    • Verbal and written communication and organization skills

    • Should be able to multi-task and project manage many tasks simultaneously

    • 5+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) AND 5+ years experience working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) AND Experience managing budget $500k+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field

    • 3+ years experience in leading a diverse, technical team

    • Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, CCNA Certifications, ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Certifications, Leadership Development Certifications, PMP, CDCP.

    Data Center Operations Management M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
