    THE ROLE : The Data Architect, Plan to Make and Record to Report is responsible for driving and delivering analytics solutions for the source to pay and order to cash process areas. They will participate in the design, development and implementation of business intelligence, analytics, data warehouse, and master data management solutions and strategies to support these process areas. The individual will be a data advocate to the business, educating them on the "art of the possible". They will be a key player in our journey to enable a to a data driven organization.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Support the data strategy and architectural designs working with data leadership team

    • Participate in addressing enterprise-wide platform and technology requirements for data solutions as well as educate the business on the art of the possible.

    • Create and document best practices for the development lifecycle of data assets.

    • Identify and help enable generative AI data assets and Machine Learning models to drive predictive/prescriptive analytics with the business.

    • Drive a and excel in a fast past environment, while providing a high level of quality and control.

    • Lead and/or participate in requirement gathering and issue resolution meetings with technical and business resources. Be able to create business requirements definition, functional, system design and technical specifications that are detailed, complete and in compliance with Xylem's IT standards.

    • Use existing or seek out emerging industry practices when solving business problems.

    • Conduct training as you deploy data assets

    • Prepare for and lead data governance councils for you're the Plan to Make and Record to Report process areas

    • Use governance councils to prioritize analytics work, make master data decisions, educate on the art of the possible, and build the backlog

    • Accountable and responsible for collaborating with our business-facing teams for Operations across all Xylem's sites within Plan to Make and Record to Report

    • Develop strong business relationships with your strategic business and vendor partners

    • Play a key role in our ERP implementation, engaging with the ERP team on governance, planning, acquisition, development, and delivery of new and existing data capabilities in ERP

    • Serve as the product owner for all things data to the business process areas, ensuring constant communication and transparency as to what we are working on, status, and balancing priorities

    • Work closely with business SME personnel to develop and maintain a functional understanding and documentation of the business use of applications and what processes have been developed against the data and functions associated with those applications as well as any data challenges that may exist.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience; OR Master's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience; or Bachelor's degree and 7 years of Information Systems experience.

    • Data Lead Experience

    • Data Fabric (ETL/ELT, Lake, Warehouse, BI) Design & Development Experience

    • Project and product management

    • Business Analyst Experience

    • AI/ML & Data Science Experience a plus

    • Effective written and oral communication skills

    • Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding

    • Strong process and technical documentation skills

    • Possesses good time management skills and has the ability to self-manage support/issue priorities

    • Ability to prioritize, lead, and direct multi-functional teams

    • Highly detailed with documentation

    • Able to effectively prioritize

    • Able to drive work and delivery on time with quality

    • Able to learn and understand the business

    Technical Knowledge

    • 4 or more years of experience in the deploying and supporting of complex solutions using data technologies.

    • Data Bricks, ETL/ELT Tools, BI Tools (Power BI Preferred), experience

    • Experience bringing data from many diverse systems including many ERPs

    • ERP implementation experience (SAP Preferred)

    • Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment.

    • Leadership and accountability to maintain relationships with peers and customers.

    • Demonstrable ability to coordinate or lead multiple projects and activities with relevant priorities.

    • Understand service models and prioritization based on impacts on business operations.

    DAY IN THE LIFE :

    In this role, the working environment is generally in an office setting and may be performed remotely. The physical demands may include but are not limited to moving around in an office environment, frequent oral communication, close vision, and ability to operate office equipment. Up to 20% time spent traveling.

    Salary range

    $118,500.00 - $213,500.00
