  • Job Description

    The Work Order Management Initiative will address the historical lack of ownership, governance and controls across the work order lifecycle by containing the problem, reducing the backlog, refining processes, and driving leadership accountability.

    The goal of the Work Order Management Tiger Team is to put together strategy and execute that strategy over six month frame to mitigate safety, regulatory, compliance, financial risk relating to open order spend.

    Responsibilities

    * Act as data analyst for the Work Order Mgmt Tiger Team

    * Work with large amounts of data including tables, algorithms, and other extracts for complex analysis

    * Support the implementation of strategy led by Tiger Team lead

    * Track the progress using lean methods with visual management, operating systems, problem solving, and reduction of waste

    * Report out weekly to management with visual tracking and progression

    * Align with cross functional clients including Business Finance, Work Order Management, Change Management, etc

    * Ensure compliance with internal process and procedures

    * Partner with Reporting Automation and Work Order Management teams to provide visibility and drive appropriate actions related to the completion of the high priority work

    * Work with initiative lead, change management resources, process mapping resources, and Work Order Management teams involved on the effort

    * Work cross-functionally within EO to implement changes in alignment with desired outcomes

    * Support the compilation of data-driven updates for PG&E leadership, external parties, and auditors that have vested interests in the success of the overall effort

    * Support completion of process improvement and change management activities required for successful initiative outcomes

    * Participate in project management oversight structure with routine check-in meetings

    * Support the management of action items, risks & mitigations, the project timeline, and the documentation of decisions

    The candidate possesses the following distinguishing characteristics

    * Experience in a large construction firm or utility work & resource management/portfolio management environment

    * Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to achieve desired analytical outcome

    * Ability to synthesize very large amounts of data into actionable reporting for both operational leadership and also upper management

    * Process improvement experience

    * Experience with long term improvements and/or initiatives that have information technology components

    * Ability to effectively work with a matrixed, cross-functional group of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes

    * Ability to think strategically and consolidate data/information into an integrated, properly formatted end-to-end story with concise analyses in the form of a PowerPoint presentation

    * Demonstrates utility, work management, resource management, change control, and portfolio management business acumen
