Custodian

EPIC Early Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. EPIC is a private, nonprofit organization that has been providing comprehensive early childhood education and support services to children and families in Central Washington for over 35 years. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive by delivering high-quality educational and developmental programs.

As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our centers. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas. You will also be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues. • Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Dust and wipe down surfaces
• Empty trash cans and replace liners
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
• Communicate any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed
• Adhere to EPIC's culture of safety

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

$17.30 to $17.82 Hourly

1. Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
2. Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
3. Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
4. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
5. Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
6. Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
7. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
8. Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
9. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
10. CEO Approval.
