  • Overview

    Fairview Health Services is hiring a CT Technologist to join our CT Scanner department at our M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital location in Burnsville, MN.

    The CT Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist will be performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

    M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital provides outstanding care to the Twin Cities communities located south of the river. We provide emergency services for the entire family, including pediatric emergency care for children. In addition, we offer on-site access to specialists in everything from heart and cancer care to pediatrics and sports medicine. No other care system in the Minnesota River Valley provides more access to specialty services than Fairview Ridges Hospital.

    Schedule :

    You will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the evening/night shift. This position will also work an as needed holiday rotation.

    • Typical schedule will be:

    • Weekends Only: Every Saturday and Sunday 2:00 pm - 2:00 am

    • Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available

    Responsibilities Job Description

    • Maintaining and prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

    • Performing excellent patient care and examinations.

    • Using appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs and communicating pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.

    • Communicating with and educating patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam.

    • Achieving quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.

    • Applying established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures while ensuring patient data integrity.

    • Adhering to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures and accurately documenting in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completing computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.

    • Assessing the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.

    • Participating as an active team member and participating in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.

    • Contributing to a positive work environment.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications :

    • License/Certification/Registration

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

    • Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • License/Certification/Registration

    • Additional certifications in Imaging

    • CT Certification within 18 months of hire

    • Experience

    • 1 or more years of experience as a CT Technologist or in a related role

    • Previous ambulatory care experience preferred

    • Siemens Scanner experience

    • IV experience (willing to train)

    Additional Requirements :

    • Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations

    • Knowledge of quality control and safety standards

    • Strong interpersonal / social skills

    • Attention to detail and safety practices

    • Calm demeanor during fast paced work environment

    • Good communicator, ability to multi-task and prioritize and give as a standout colleague are crucial skills
