As a Critical Facilities Lab Technician, you will address sophisticated topics that craft how we maintain and operate our facilities and generate ideas that push team members and senior leaders to expand the boundaries of innovation and technology. You will also be involved in the development and delivery of new technologies which support our overall Datacenter Operations. With your technical expertise, you will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g, cooling, electrical).

    Description

    Critical Facilities Lab Technicians are responsible for the safe, professional, and operationally sound manipulation of the systems, such as cooling and electrical, that support systems in high-availability, high-risk, or high-reliability environments. The Technician is also involved in the development and testing of new technology in the datacenter space include the evaluation of wide variety of devices, equipment and systems in our focused lab environments and in our data centers. The key objective is to innovate or refine our test environments, evaluate and characterize systems, with the goal of improving a concept, product, service, methods and procedures. Responsibilities Regularly inspect and supervise critical equipment and respond to irregular or malfunctioning conditions. Participate in the innovation and collaboration to design or improve evaluation environments, test fixtures and systems for new technologies Collaborate cross functionally with teams as well as vendors and suppliers to achieve goals. Follow all federal, state, and local regulations for operations and work safety. Use appropriate PPE such as ARC Flash suits and/or coverall in a variety of environments. Support Data Center Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance / troubleshooting support, and procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues Project manage and coordinate with DCO System Specific ICTs as their scopes overlap, ensuring system integrity throughout all maintenance, repair and construction activities

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of hyper scale electrical and mechanical systems and NFPA70 and OSHA Regulations that pertain to data centers

    • Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other infrastructure systems

    • Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holiday

    • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and lift as required, on a continuous basis, with items that can weigh up to 75 lbs

    • Ability to work extended hours within a Critical Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles.

    • Requires ability to climb and utilize a ladder varying in types from A-Frame to extension ladders at various heights, this may also include the use of man lifts or scissor lift.

    • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment after accurate training is provided
