    Responsible for overall supervision of the Crematory including oversight and coordination of processing of all operational and accounting functions. Participates in the production and maintenance of records and files that relate to crematory property and products.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assist Location Manager with Administrative Duties

    • Monitor the operation and proper function of the crematory equipment and machinery by regular inspection, advise location management team when repairs or replacement is required

    • Perform a daily review of cremations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies

    • Maintain an inventory of urns and other supplies, including temporary containers

    • Maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds in accordance with established standards

    • Coordinate the services of the burial / scatter at sea and maintain a log of same

    • Supervise the care and maintenance of all automotive equipment. Schedule service and repair as needed, submit monthly mileage logs as required

    • Supervise shipping / mailing of cremated remains and arrange for special handling when necessary

    • Provides a collaborative, productive workplace environment for associate growth and development that instills pride, a sense of ownership, and the challenge to associates to exceed expectations

    • Assure compliance with all Company policies and procedures

    • Support location management to ensure objectives are attained while maintaining a high standard to ethics and budgetary requirements

    EDUCATIONAL/Experience/MINIMUM Requirements

    Education:

    • High school diploma or completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school or equivalent work experience

    Education:

    • Five (5) years of funeral home, care center and/or decedent care preparation

    License:

    • State License for Funeral Director if required by state (National Board Certification required in some states)

    • Valid driver's license

    • Good driving record

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the company.

    • Ability to work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus. When necessary must be able to work independently.

    • Detail oriented and demonstrated commitment to completing assigned responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

    • Ability to motivate staff through effective mentoring and leadership

    • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
