    Summary : The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordination and oversight of credentialing for all new providers during the onboarding process. This position also performs credentialing pertaining to practice and provider changes as well as updates and maintenance of credentialing / follow up, as needed. The Credentialing Specialist serves as an experienced lead within the Payer Credentialing department, acting as a resource to the other members of the Payer Credentialing team as well as assisting in the training of new team members. The Credentialing Specialist creates new provider records in the Payer Credentialing database and performs reporting from and maintenance within the database, including provider demographic and practice updates, deboarding, etc.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serves as a point of contact for providers and office managers throughout all steps of payer credentialing as it relates to the onboarding and recredentialing processes.

    • Works with the assigned Credentialing Liaison to assist, when needed, in the collection of all required documentation for payer credentialing throughout the process.

    • Distributes credentialing related documents to all necessary departments and contacts as needed or requested.

    • Streamlines the provider onboarding process to ensure payer credentialing is completed and provider is prepared to begin seeing patients.

    • Works with the Payer Credentialing Manager on special projects, tasks or needs identified within the department.

    Qualifications :

    • One to three years of provider payer credentialing experience required

    • Knowledge of payer credentialing processes and requirements.

    • Experience in a healthcare setting interacting with physicians and other providers

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

    • Effective written and verbal communication skills

    • Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering presentations/training

    • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously

    • Certification as Provider Credentialing Specialist preferred

    Education :

    High School diploma / GED required

    Associates Degree in Business or Health Care Administration preferred

    Pay Range: $19.32-30.92

    Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
