    What to Expect

    This position will provide financial support to Supply Chain operations management, Corporate Finance and all businesses (DRB and Globally Managed) with a focus on transportation, distribution centres and related activities. Areas of support will include Period End Closing, Financial Planning, Financial Analysis and Reporting, as well as specific business requirements. This position will also engage in a business partnering relationship with Supply Chain Management and the Business Units to influence positive business decisions.

    A day in the life of a Costing Specialist, Operations:

    This role will focus on variable distribution including costing and planning for areas of Distribution Allowance, Supply and Delivery Freight, and actively supporting processes and initiatives in Distribution Centres, transportation management team, ICE Cream Route to Market team and other supply chain functions such as the integrated planning team and sustainability team.

    • Ensures that costing activities in distribution network is performed for Nestle Canada (NCI) in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Contributes to the identification and implementation of process improvements, and enhancing distribution costing knowledge at NCI.

    • Supports the annual operating plans and latest estimates process to identify and project costs associated with distribution activities & allocations across businesses.

    • Ensuring appropriate processes and controls, and adherence to Nestle Accounting Standards

    • Performing Period End Close activities, and providing analytics and insights to all businesses and relevant functions in actuals to forecast, as well as

    • Supporting E&Y and internal compliance audit, and performing monthly and annual regulatory reporting

    • Participate in ongoing development of actual cost allocations for categories and at SKU level, in compliance with activity-based costing methodologies and the application of the Costing Standards for Distribution.

    Role Requirements

    • University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.

    • Accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA or CPA) would be an asset.

    • 3-5 years progressive experience in financial reporting and analysis. Financial acumen with strong understanding of P & L drivers, activity-based costing and allocations.

    • Prior experience with SAP processes is required.

    • Experience within a network organization (internal and external providers).
