Corrections RN/LPN - Boston, MA - Eves

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a much respected facility in Boston MA who is currently seeking an RN/LPN to assist them at their facility on a full time basis.

Details of the position include:

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 13 weeks to start with likelihood of extension

Facility Type: Correctional Facility

Openings: Mon-Fri, 2:45pm-11:15pm , E/O Weekend

RN - $57/hr local and $2,650 gross/week travel

LPN - $47/hr local & $2,100/week gross/week travel

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

General nursing duties. Med passing, triage, and risk assessment.

-Assists physicians with medical treatments -Administers prescribed medication

-Applies surgical dressings & bandages

-Provides emergency first aid care

-Checks & records vital signs -Obtains specimens from inmate patients for diagnostic testing

-Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the inmates' emotional or physical condition

-Provides inmate patient education and/or discharge planning

-Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms

-Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner

-Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• Current Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices

• Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• WILL CONSIDER A NEW GRAD
