Corporate Tax Manager

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Tax Manager at our Covington, Louisiana location. This role is placed within the transport industry and requires a highly meticulous and organized individual. The successful candidate will be tasked with handling various responsibilities related to corporate tax, including processing and reviewing tax-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage corporate tax matters ensuring compliance with laws and regulations

• Leverage tax expertise to handle tax preparation and review

• Engage in the maintenance and enhancement of tax-related accounting procedures and processes

• Utilize intermediate to expert Excel skills to manage and analyze tax data

• Gain and utilize ERP experience to manage tax-related matters efficiently

• Engage in continuous development to pursue CPA certification if not already achieved

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting

• Investigate and resolve tax-related issues as they arise

• Participate in the expansion of the organization's tax department through active involvement in planning and execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of expertise in public accounting tax and/or Corporate Tax is necessary

• A degree Accounting, is required and a masters degree preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is preferred

• Comprehensive understanding of tax codes, compliance and procedures related to the Transport industry is needed

• Familiarity with tax software and databases is a plus

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential

• Strong communication and negotiation skills are important

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail is expected

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks are necessary

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required

• Familiarity with office software and relevant computer software is a plus.
