    Position Summary

    The primary responsibilities of the Cash Application Associate are the timely matching of remittance files to deposits in system exception queues, and the application of remittance to open deposits within the Third-Party Management System, (TPMS). The Associate monitors open deposit exceptions and contacts remittance processors to resolve issues associated with missing remittance files. This function supports the Cash Application team goal of timely and accurate application of remittance files to deposits to maintain the lowest possible amount of unapplied cash. The associate is also responsible for researching and identifying unknown deposits received by Third Party and recommending updates to the broader team as well as others in the department, (i.e., Pharmacy Account Management and Production Support).

    The Cash Application Associate will report Sr. Manager of Cash Application. This role carries significant responsibility that affects cash flow. Inaccuracy in this role could impact financials.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research and resolve deposit and remittance exceptions in queue and determine remittance to deposit matches, according to Third-Party process guidelines and manager expectations.

    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of ERA/EFT with Payers.

    • Research and identify unknown deposit processor exceptions in the queue. Interact with Deposit Processors, Payers, and Business Partners to validate deposit details on unidentified deposits.

    • Monitor open deposits and remittance payment cycles, contacting Remittance Processors for missing files.

    • Partner with Payer Relations contracting area to ensure new stores being added are also accounted for on the Third-Party Receivable side.

    Required Qualifications

    • Ability to work individually and/or with a team to systematically identify root cause, define problems, evaluate alternatives, and recommend/implement viable solutions.

    • Intermediate working knowledge of all MS Operating Systems and MS Office applications (such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

    • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment, quickly making sound decisions and the desire to seek continued professional growth.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal/external business partners (i.e., directors, managers, colleagues, and external entities).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

    • Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis and/or measure success.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is

    $17.00 - $34.15

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
