  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under direction of manager, plans, coordinates, and implements projects, programs and events related to community relations and corporate communications.

    • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the media and public.

    • Develops, coordinates, and implements communication strategies and procedures as directed.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.

    • Frequent: sitting.

    • Occasional: walking, standing, stooping/bending, reaching at and below shoulder level.

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

    • Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to media calls as needed.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, public relations, communications, marketing or related field; or four (4) years progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, marketing, health care or related field may be substituted for the educational requirement.

    B. EXPERIENCE:

    • In addition to the educational requirement, minimum two (2) years of experience in public relations, preferably in the health care industry.

    • Prior experience dealing with the news media required.
