Job Description

The Pharmacy department is responsible for compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals, supplies, medications and large-to-small volume parenteral, as well as providing drug information and education. We strive to ensure that our patients and clients receive safe and effective medication by applying the highest standards of modern pharmaceutical care.
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy System Director or designee, coordinates the clinical functions, educational activities, and programs of Hawai'i Pacific Health pharmacy services. Develops goals, policies, and programs governing the provision of quality patient care and ensures that all standards for the quality of clinical pharmacy services are met. Provides clinical pharmacy advisement, developing and continuously improving clinical pharmacy services to optimize service, quality, patient safety, and economics. Implements initiatives to facilitate pharmacy integration into direct patient care activities to promote positive outcomes. Ensures the appropriate use of drugs and provides accurate drug information to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements for Hawai'i state licensing. Current Hawai'i pharmacist license. Five (5) years as a pharmacist with at least three (3) years of experience in training, education, and clinical pharmacy practice.
Preferred Qualifications: BCPS pharmacotherapy certification. Clinical pharmacist experience in a health care system or university teaching environment.
