Controller

Description

We are seeking a Controller in the Real Estate and Property industry, located in the Lansing, Michigan area. This role is in charge of all corporate accounting and property management accounting. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all corporate accounting operations

• Manage property management accounting activities

• Process invoices, payables and deal processing

• Utilize Yardi property management software for pertinent tasks

• Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing using ADP software

• Work on-site 5 days a week

• Ensure accounting for multiple entities is up to date

• Ensure preparation of preliminary June statement for fiscal year end is completed on time

• Manage accounting functions for multiple operating entities

• Handle deal processing for brokerage commissions.

Requirements - Proven experience in handling Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Yardi, Yardi Property Management, and Yardi Software

• Experience in Commissions Accounting and managing Commissions

• Knowledge of Compensation - Commissions

• Experience in ADP - Payroll

• Proficiency in managing Payroll and Payroll Functions

• Ability to Process Bi-weekly Payroll

• Relevant qualifications in Real Estate & Property or related fields

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software
