  • Summary:

    Meta seeks a highly engaged and experienced team player for a lead role to join our Design, Engineering & Construction (DEC) organization. As a Contract Manager, you will report to the Global Manager of the DEC Contracts team and be accountable to oversee all contracting for the project lifecycle of 3-5 data center campuses in North America. The role will partner with Contracts leadership and all levels across the organization to gather and understand operational and financial information to maximize contract value and reduce risk to the owner. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support DEC's organization from a deal strategy and operational efficiency perspective. Candidates must be experienced in contract development, including scope development, deal structure, fee structure, contract formation, and legal and commercial negotiations. Success in the role requires a high degree of process orientation, communication skills, critical thinking to identify new and different approaches to structuring deals, and ability to work across multiple functions/stakeholders as a trusted advisor.The Contract Manager will manage, optimize and administer a variety of design, engineering, construction, connectivity and consulting contracts and will draft, develop, review and negotiate on Meta's behalf. This role will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive a cohesive and high impact contracts function. In particular, the role will collaborate closely with key partners in Precon, Design, Construction Delivery, Project Controls, Legal, Compliance, and Finance. The responsibilities of this role will also include collaboration with stakeholders outside of DEC, including Site Development, Energy, Supply Chain/Sourcing, and Facilities Operations functions. The DEC Contracts team maintains a continuous improvement philosophy with a focus on scaling processes and tooling to maintain efficiency in a constantly evolving industry and rapidly growing portfolio. As such, a key function of the role will be to find opportunities for process improvement to drive consistency and efficiency across the program.Partnering with stakeholders located across all regions and time zones is key to the success of our projects.     Required Skills:

    Contracts Manager, Data Center Design Engineering and Construction Responsibilities:

    1. Independently drive the overall contract management function for assigned data center campuses, including development and implementation of contracts management tooling solutions, contracts playbooks, and deal-to-contract intake and review processes for their functional program

    2. Partner with Contracts leadership and other business leaders to help navigate complex operations and spend initiatives with significant spend and risk

    3. drive cross-functional contracts risk and cost containment efforts

    4. Develop and continuously improve deal-to-contract policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and control frameworks

    5. Proactively work with partners to deliver on various activities including: budget planning and financial commitment monitoring, building contract templates and clause libraries, contract review processes and procedures and risk and supplier relationship management efforts.

    6. Develop and maintain internal (customer and business partner) and external (Supplier) relationships to ensure positive and constructive interactions representing complex contracting issues to leadership teams.

    7. Coordinate and drive resolution to key business issues with legal, risk management, corporate contracts and leadership

    8. Serve as the point of contact for contract inquiries for their regional purview

    9. Provide guidance and internal support for their functional program on best ways to structure deals

    10. Ensure that signed contracts are complete and clearly communicated to all relevant parties, including interpretation to support implementation

    11. Examine existing policies and procedures to optimize the end-to-end process from source to pay with all parties concerned

    12. Share best practices with and provide training to team, peers, and outside business units to enhance the quality and efficiency of contracting processes

    13. Ensure all approved requests have been properly documented, escalated to the appropriate approval level, and resolved within SLA

    14. Act as a liaison between the business and Legal to drive for resolution of business and legal risk issues during contract formation and negotiation.

    15. Manage and coordinate various projects and contracts management responsibilities

    16. Partner with Contracts Program leadership to develop and define KPIs for the purposes of Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews

    17. 15-20% travel to construction sites is required (domestic locations)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. 15+ years of work experience in transactional contract management, construction law, construction risk management, supply chain or similar contract-related experience

    2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Construction Management, English, Accounting, Legal Studies, Contract Law, Business Administration, Engineering or similar.

    3. Experience in all Microsoft Office applications (ex: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).

    4. Experience with Adobe Sign (or similar electronic signing tool)

    5. Experience with typical construction industry contracting approaches and fee structures, such as: Lump Sum, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), Cost Reimbursement, Cost Plus Fee, Time & Materials, Hourly Rate, Not to Exceed, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), Financial Incentive Structures.

    1. Graduate-level professional degree in Law (JD), Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or similar

    2. Experience in communication and presentation skills with a proven track-record of high performance driving complex multi-stakeholder projects and programs.

    3. Experience quickly adjusting to changing business priorities and confidence to make decisions with limited information.

    4. Solid commitment to contracts and records management efficiencies, with extensive experience across a broad spectrum of contract types, contract clauses, and business records

    5. Strong knowledge in process development and continuous improvement in contracts playbooks, deal-to-contract intake/pipelines, and other related procedures and tools

    6. Experience collaborating with Legal partners for final approval of contracts.

    7. Experience managing and overseeing policy compliance requirements.

    8. Experience navigating ambiguity and championing change.

    Public Compensation:

    $144,000/year to $201,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
