  • New England Federal Credit Union is hiring for a Consumer Lending Supervisor! Reporting to the AVP., Consumer Lending Sales, the Consumer Lending Supervisor will be responsible for managing and supporting the Consumer Loan Officer Team while guiding the team towards optimal performance, quality, consistency, and efficiency. The Consumer Lending Supervisor will ensure that we are following internal process and policy, meeting underwriting guidelines, following lending authority levels, and remaining compliant with relevant state and federal regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the centralized consumer underwriting process which includes supervising the consumer loan officers to maximize productivity, efficiency, including hiring, new employee training, directing job assignments, monitoring, and documenting staff performance, as needed and at least annually through the performance review process, provide coaching and ongoing feedback. Assist in the management of the indirect lending program as needed.
    • Regularly perform and document underwriting reviews to ensure consistency and adherence to policy and procedures as well as to assist staff in obtaining and increasing underwriting authority levels. Ensure that underwriting standards are met, and applications are handled appropriately. Address quality and accuracy issues and provide necessary coaching. Create remedial plans as needed. Assist staff with procedural, regulatory, and practical info related to Consumer Lending functions.
    • Perform underwriting when needed to approve or deny consumer loan applications. Recognize department needs for added support and reallocate workloads accordingly, provide overflow support for any consumer lending function. Handle escalated situations and help to resolve difficult and complex issues and requests. Communicate with and support members, vendors, staff, and other departments on their needs.
    • Assist with research, consumer loan product recommendations and implementation. Make necessary recommendations to processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and to optimize efficiency.As needed, participate in departmental or organization wide projects. Assist with testing and training as it relates to consumer lending. Assist with requests for internal and external auditors and examinations

    Recommended Experience:

    • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

    • A college degree in Business or a related field preferred.
